In this program, we will explore the lesser-known yet equally compelling stories of the extraordinary lives led by women who, in many ways, were the most ordinary of individuals, contending with chronic poverty and lives that were quite typical for poor, rural 19th-century women. Join us to uncover the depth of these women's involvement in Brown’s cause and their crucial roles in preserving and transforming his legacy after his death.
